A Modern Homesteader
Sitting at the table one day about 4 years ago. Staring out the window of a rental house dreaming of a garden. This would be the stepping stones to where we are now with having a homestead. I really didn't know much about gardening at the time. I knew how to plant a seed that was it. But in planting that seed in hope of growing food for my family I learned so much that very hot summer in Alaska. As the garden grew bigger I got my first carten of farm fresh eggs and fell in love with the quality of the eggs and tast. It was a big difference from your normal grocery store eggs. So I built my first chicken coop and we got our first flock of old hens. We now have a saying 4 years in to this lifestyle "store eggs tast like disappointment" Then we got into raising meat Rabbits.
